Pitts v. Jackson National Life Insurance: We defended this insurance practices class action in state court in South Carolina. After conditional certification of a class, we obtained summary judgment on the merits, which was upheld on appeal.

Wyche represented a manufacturer of birth-control pills in a birth defects case. The case was fought over several years, involving extensive discovery and use of expert witnesses. Ultimately, after the court’s revocation of the pro hac vice admission of plaintiffs’ out-of-state counsel, we obtained a favorable settlement for our client.
Represented non-controlling owners of a nationally known real estate development company in one of the largest and most significant minority shareholder oppression lawsuits in the history of South Carolina. Litigation was settled by clients’ purchase of controlling owners’ equity interests and resale of all equity interests to third party purchaser. Responsible for representing whistleblower, Ken Lohr, who filed suit in the Eastern District of North Carolina alleging that an ambulance company has fraudulently billed the United States government.
